'Strings and Grass' is a fundraising concert for Echéa String Quartet.
Echéa Quartet invites you to a musical picnic in a romantic garden: Tapas-style concert, from old to new music. BYOB & blanket.
As you are probably aware lockdown has been particularly difficult for the performing Arts. Under normal circumstances Echéa Quartet would be fully booked performing in only worldclass music venues. These are not normal times and we would like to make a small gesture with this event.
SUB TEI's last exhibition brought together a wealth of international performances and music. Whilst the Berlin Art festival 48 Stunden Neukölln went online, a small group of contributing London artists gathered in our garden and the idea of 'Strings and Grass' was born.
Echéa Quartet are the Prizewinners of the International Anton Rubinstein Chamber Music Competition (2018) and finalists in the Royal Overseas-League Music Competition (2019),it was formed in 2017 at the Royal Academy of Music, London. They are currently Chamber Music Fellows at the Royal Academy and artists for the Concordia and City Music Foundations (2019/20). The quartet are recent recipients of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Albert and Eugenie Frost Chamber Music Prize (2019/20). The quartet studies with John Myerscough, Levon Chilingirian, Mathieu Herzog, Simon Rowland-Jones and David Waterman.
