Paolo Barlascini ’s painting “F.L.”, studied for the context of this specific exhibition and time, attempts to take up the gallery room, maybe even expand through it and yet is divided into several adjacent parts. The landscape depicted, despite a high up bird’s eye perspective that seemingly gives us the feeling of an overview, can feel whole and comprehensible only if complete of all its parts.
Paolo Barlascini (born 1976 in Sondrio, Italy), studied architecture in Genoa and Berlin, where he moved in 1999. His artistic practice resolves around painting, but extends to illustration, architecture collaborations, scenography and more recently creation of digital worlds for VR. He exhibited in several solo shows between Italy and Germany, lives and works in Berlin.
